Η Σητεία είναι παράλιακη κωμόπολη της ανατολικής Κρήτης του νομού Λασιθίου. Βρίσκεται στο βορειοανατολικό τμήμα του νομού, στο δυτικό μυχό του φερώνυμου όρμου, 70 χλμ. ανατολικά του Αγίου Νικολάου Λασιθίου και αποτελεί έδρα του ομώνυμου δήμου. Είναι πατρίδα του ποιητή του «Ερωτόκριτου» Βιτσέντσου Κορνάρου. Η Σητεία διαθέτει μικρό αεροδρόμιο και λιμανι μέσω τον οποίον συνδέεται με την Αθήνα και τα νησιά του Αγαίου, αποτελεί τουριστικό θέρετρο.
